In a nutshell, the wicked (both in and out of Christendom) are known to spread destruction because of their morally corrupted minds. Please, don’t act surprised.
“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.”
—Ecclesiastes 8:11-13
Though the wicked seems to get away with their corruptness that appears to last for long periods of time (from our perspective) — IT ONLY SEEMS LIKE IT! His/Her own havoc will destroy them in the moment least expected.
“His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.”
— Proverbs 5:22
The only escape is obedience to God!
