“…Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high…”
— Hebrews 1:3
Hello, Friends. Here’s a short but most impactful exhortation on the character of Jesus Christ. Many, many, and we do mean many in Christendom believe that Jesus is the Second Person of the Godhead and/or of the trinity. But, that is false doctrine by false speakers and false leaders under the influence of the angel of light. For even the devils know that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh; but they have deceived countless numbers of souls over the centuries and generations to buy in to the lie of Jesus’ true identity!
The demons know who Jesus is, and it is proven by what they said in Matthew 8:29, “And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”
Folks, if you do not believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, then you are on the path of destruction and perdition. For, Jesus said, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8:24). We beg you by the mercies of God — repent and believe the gospel.
But, if you do believeth on Him as the scriptures declare, continue to walk in the light as He is in the light … and trusteth in Him with all your heart and soul unto the end.
Let’s look into the key word phrase from our focal verse above in Hebrews 1:3….
It is the phrase “express image” which is used only once in scripture …and… the Greek word is “charaktēr” from which the word “character” is derived in English. The essence of this phrase “express image” along with “His Person” in this verse, denote that Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone of the substructure of His Church … and that He is God manifest in the flesh….
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11
We have further evidence of the true identity of the Lord Jesus Christ, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” — Colossians 1:15-17
The following witness statement also confirms that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He is the visible image of His invisible eternal existence!
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” — 1 Timothy 3:16
Whoso believeth that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh believeth the truth of the record of Him in scripture; whoso believeth not in Him believeth not the record of Him … and Jesus Himself said, they are condemned already.
Consider the following references on who Jesus is:
- (Isaiah 43:11) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
- (1 John 4:2-3) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
- (1 John 4:14) And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
- (1 John 5:9-10) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
- (John 3:18-20) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Special Notes — The title “Son of God” is an idiom that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh.
He occupies different offices such as, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. When He said, “…My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” (John 5:17) — He spoke of the work or office of the Father up to a certain point, then the office of the Son took it from there to the cross, burial, resurrection, a forty day seminar with His disciples, then He ascended on high to make intercession for those who will be saved to the uttermost.
We have also learned that, Jesus’ “…name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6). He said in John 14:18, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” The word “comfortless” means, orphan, that is, parentless. This lets us know that Jesus is the Comforter (i.e., the Holy Ghost), the Father, and the Son. He will not leave us as orphans, but will dwell in our hearts by faith (Ephesians 3:17)….
Also, the phrase “spirit of antichrist” in 1 John 4:3 refers to the corrupted attitude of “an opponent and adversary of the Messiah” (i.e., Jesus Christ) …and… it is a precept to “the enemies of the cross of Christ” (Philippians 3:18-19), and to those who oppose themselves, i.e., those who set themselves in opposition to the instruction of the Lord through His meek servant (2 Timothy 2:25). Anyone opposed to the Lord Jesus Christ as God manifest in the flesh is an unbeliever of His spoken and written word—and they are under the influence of the spirit of antichrist.
The Lord Jesus Christ is not God’s little boy … He is God Almighty.
—Bishop Hood
One Last Note — Many in Christendom believe there is only one antichrist but God said there are many….
1 John 2:18, “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”
That being said, when we consider there were many antichrists in the first century as John wrote, how many more antichrists do we suppose there are, today? Well, the evidence proves they are seen on television; heard on the radio; read about in their books and websites; well known throughout social media; seen live on stages around the world; received in entertainment venues … and the list goes on and on….
We ask this final question from three bonafide witnesses — Isaiah 53:1; John 12:38; Romans 10:16, “…who hath believed our report?”
